MY STORY
Welcome to “The Sewing Stable"
Hi, I’m Debbie, and I’m so happy you’ve taken the time to visit.
I’d like to welcome you to “The Sewing Stable”, my little “patch” lol of paradise. My shop is attached to stables on our property in Mount Hallen, a little suburb 10 minutes outside the beautiful little township of Esk (in the Somerset Region of Queensland), and roughly 1 hour & 15 minutes from Brisbane.
My very, supportive husband and I moved to this lovely area over 3 years ago and often say we wished we moved here sooner – we really enjoy living here.
I’m a Mother of 3 beautiful girls, 3 very spoilt dogs, 2 sweet little miniature horses, 5 sheep and 3 chickens. I enjoy fishing and AFL team Geelong.
I adore anything patchwork and pretty. My Mum often says to me “Debbie, I don’t know where you got your love of sewing from because I’m not a sewer (oh yes she was, she took up our School uniforms and sewed buttons on lol).

For such a long time, I have wanted my own Patchwork Shop. I remember taking a few lessons in a gorgeous little Patchwork shop in Geelong called “A Little Different”, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting that shop and from then I was addicted to all things patchwork and stitching.
The Sewing Stable offers beautiful quilting fabrics, patterns, Presencia and DMC stranded threads, notions, loads of buttons and gifts. We have a “Stable Stitchers” UFO Group who meet on Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm and our “The Cottage Garden Quilt” Group meet at 2:00pm to 5:30’ish on Tuesdays. If you’ve ever thought about joining a stitching group we’d love to meet you.
If you are ever in this pretty neck of the woods, I hope you pop in for a chat. However, if that is not possible, grab a comfy chair, pour yourself a drink and enjoy looking at our selection of loveliness.
For anyone living overseas that would like to purchase from me, please do not hesitate to email me at (TheSewingStable@hotmail.com) and I’ll be happy to help any way I can.
Happy Stitching everyone!!!
Debbie x
